Nach der Veröffentlichung ihres neuesten Studioalbums „Dreams of Lands Unseen“ ist die aufstrebende ukrainische Metal-Band IGNEA bereit, die Bühnen der EU und des Vereinigten Königreichs zu erobern und Fear Factory zu supporten. Bevor sie sich jedoch auf diese Reise begeben, wird die furchtlose fünfköpfige Band eine Wohltätigkeits-Tournee durch ihr Heimatland, die Ukraine, unternehmen. Darunter Städte in der Nähe der Front, um die Worte ihres Präsidenten Zelensky aus dem Februar 2022 zu erfüllen: „Ihr werdet unsere Gesichter sehen, nicht unsere Rücken“.
Um ihre Fans in Stimmung zu bringen, haben IGNEA ein Live-Erlebnisvideo für ihren Song „Daleki Obriyi“ (Далекі Обрії), in ihrer Muttersprache gesungen, veröffentlicht. Es wurde auf dem Faine Misto Festival in der Ukraine gedreht – dem größten Festival, das seit Beginn des Krieges im Land stattgefunden hat – mit rund 15.000 Besuchern an drei Tagen. Bei dieser Veranstaltung wurden Gelder für die Bedürfnisse der Ukraine gesammelt.
Als Gewinner des Best Ukrainian Metal Act Awards (einschließlich „Best Ukrainian Metal Act 2020“) und mit vielen Millionen Spotify-Streams von Fan-Favoriten wie „Alga“, „Leviathan“ und „Jinnslammer“ haben IGNEA bereits ihren Status als unausweichliche Band zum Anschauen erlangt. Das fesselnde Konzeptalbum „Dreams of Lands Unseen“ wurde im vergangenen April über Napalm Records veröffentlicht und angesichts der anhaltenden Kriegsumstände hat das Album alle Erwartungen übertroffen und lädt den Hörer ein, sie in neue Welten zu begleiten!
Sängerin Helle Bohdanova kommentiert:
„Bald sind es zwei Jahre des groß angelegten Krieges Russlands gegen die Ukraine. Wir verlieren die tapfersten Menschen, die unsere Gebiete befreien und die es auch ermöglichen, dass solche Veranstaltungen wie das Faine Misto Festival stattfinden.
Dieser eine Auftritt hat uns für die kommenden Monate aufgeladen. Es war das erste Musikereignis dieser Größenordnung in der Ukraine seit Februar 2022. Und es geschah nicht nur zum Spaß – es war ein Wohltätigkeitsfestival, bei dem Gelder für die Bedürfnisse der Ukraine durch den Verkauf von Tickets und Auktionen gesammelt wurden, und sogar Workshops zur taktischen Medizin und zur Bewältigung von Minen- und Explosionsgefahren.
Wir glauben, dass dies viel kraftvoller ist als ein gewöhnliches offizielles Video, besonders für unseren Song in ukrainischer Sprache. Hier kannst du ukrainische Metalheads sehen, die ihren Moment leben. Jede nächste Minute kann es eine Luftschutzsirene geben, jede nächste Minute kann die letzte sein. Und wir hoffen, dass du diese Energie spüren kannst, so wie wir sie von der Bühne aus gefühlt haben.“

Das 10-Track-Konzeptalbum „Dreams of Lands Unseen“ spiegelt das Leben der ukrainischen Fotografin und Dokumentarfilmerin Sofia Yablonska wider, die für ihre Reisen in sehr entlegene Teile der Welt bekannt war und dabei das Leben von Stämmen und Ureinwohnern dokumentierte, was besonders gefährlich und ungewöhnlich für eine Frau ihrer Zeit war. Klanglich schafft IGNEA ein fesselndes Meisterwerk, das dank verschiedener genrebeeinflusster Elemente an ein episches Soundtrack-Erlebnis erinnert. Produktion, Mix und Mastering stammen von Max Morton (Jinjer, Morton), während Dmitry Kim für die Tontechnik und das Schlagzeug verantwortlich war. Der Song „Daleki Obriyi“ ist einer von nur zwei Songs auf dem Album, die in ukrainischer Sprache gesungen werden, als Hommage an ihre Heimat und ihre Muttersprache. Mit Blick auf ferne Horizonte ist das Thema des Albums, Sofia, nun weit weg von der modernen menschlichen Zivilisation. Brutale Death-Metal-Rhythmen und Schreie treffen auf eingängige Synthie-Passagen und repräsentieren die Schönheit der Inseln. Bereit, weiterzuziehen, segelt Sofia ins nächste Land – sie verbringt so viel Zeit auf dem Wasser, dass es zu ihrer „Unheilbaren Krankheit“ wird. Von den fröhlichen Synth-Klängen des Meeres und aufgewühlten, wogenden Wellen mitgerissen, entsteht eine außergewöhnliche Reise. Songs wie „The Golden Shell“ und „Opiumist“ – letzterer mit dem finnischen Sänger Tuomas Saukkonen von Wolfheart – sind eine Ode an Yablonskas Erfahrungen, die sie in der chinesischen Kultur gesammelt hat. Fröhliche ostasiatische Melodien und brutale Growls schaffen die Atmosphäre einer schweren Reise. Bei „Nomad’s Luck“ erzeugen rastlose Gitarrenriffs gemischt mit kraftvollen, tiefen Schreien einen unheilvollen Sound – ein Symbol für das ständige Hinterfragen des eigenen Lebens.

After releasing their latest studio album, Dreams of Lands Unseen, uprising Ukrainian metal band IGNEA is ready to take to the stages of the EU and UK supporting Fear Factory. But before embarking on that journey, the fearless five-piece will go on a charity tour throughout their home country of Ukraine in cities, including those that are close to the frontline, fulfilling the words of their president Zelensky stated in February 2022: “you will see our faces, not our backs”.
To hype their fans up, IGNEA have released a live experience video for their song “Daleki Obriyi” (Далекі Обрії’), sung in their native language. It was filmed at the Faine Misto festival in Ukraine – the biggest festival to happen in the country since the beginning of the war – with around 15,000 visitors over the course of three days. At this event, funds for the needs of Ukraine were raised.
As a winner at The Best Ukrainian Metal Act Awards (including “Best Ukrainian Metal Act 2020”) and having gained many millions of Spotify streams with fan-favorites like “Alga”, “Leviathan” and “Jinnslammer”, IGNEA have already earned their status as an unmissable band-to-watch. The captivating concept album, Dreams of Lands Unseen, was released this past April via Napalm Records, and considering the ongoing the circumstances of the war, the album exceeded all expectations – inviting the listener to follow them into new worlds!
Vocalist Helle Bohdanova comments:
“Soon, it’s going to be two years of the full-scale war of Russia against Ukraine. We’re losing the bravest people who are freeing our territories and who also make it possible for such events as the Faine Misto festival to happen.
This one performance has charged us for months to come. It was the first music event of such a scale in Ukraine since February 2022. And it wasn’t happening just for fun — as it was a charity festival raising funds for the needs of Ukraine through ticket sales and auctions, and even workshops on tactical medicine, and mine and explosive hazard management.
We feel that this is much more powerful than some usual official video, especially for our song in Ukrainian language. Here, you can see Ukrainian metalheads living their moment. Any next minute, there can be an air raid siren, any next minute can be the last one. And we hope that you can feel this energy, like we felt it from the stage.“

Dive into heavy, score-like sonic worlds and dream of lands unseen with Ukrainian force IGNEA!
The 10-track concept album, Dreams of Lands Unseen, reflects the life of Ukrainian photographer and documentarian Sofia Yablonska, known for traveling to very distant corners of the world while documenting the lives of tribes and natives, which was especially dangerous and uncommon for a woman of her time. Sonically, IGNEA creates a captivating masterpiece which resembles, thanks in part to diverse genre-influences, an epic soundtrack-like experience. Producing, mixing and mastering was helmed by Max Morton (Jinjer, Morton) whilst Dmitry Kim managed engineering and drum production. The track “Daleki Obriyi” is only one of two songs on the album sung in Ukrainian language, honoring their home country and mother tongue. Implying distant horizons, the album’s subject, Sofia, is now far away from modern human civilization. Brutal death metal rhythms and shouts crash together with catchy synth passages, representing the beauty of the islands. Ready to move on, Sofia sails to the next country – spending so much time on the water, it becomes her “Incurable Disease”. Carried away by the gleeful synth-sounds of the sea and turbulent, pounding waves, it creates an extraordinary voyage. Songs like “The Golden Shell” and “Opiumist” – the latter featuring Finnish vocalist Tuomas Saukkonen of Wolfheart – are an ode to Yablonska’s experiences she gathered in Chinese culture. Cheery eastern melodies and brutal growls create the atmosphere of a heavy trip. On “Nomad’s Luck”, restless guitar riffs mixed with powerful deep shouts create an ominous sound – a symbol of the constant questioning of one’s lifetime.
